Careers

Working with us means supporting vegetable growers with precise laser weeding, careful field planning and practical site work. We hire people who can handle farm conditions, keep records straight and work well around crops, machinery and weather shifts.

Field work that starts before the sun is high

Our team works with tractor-drawn laser weeding units on commercial vegetable farms, so the work is hands-on and site specific. We look for people who understand field access, row spacing, crop stages and the care needed when working around onions, carrots, lettuce and brassicas.

Some roles are outdoors every day, while others sit in the office or workshop and keep the operation moving between farms in Philippi, Ceres, Grabouw, Tzaneen, Bela-Bela, Nelspruit, Howick and Bethlehem. The work changes with season bookings, travel plans and the weed pressure in each block.

The roles we hire for around the farm programme

We bring in people for operator support, scheduling, grower liaison, workshop work and field coordination. Some roles spend time on the tractor with trained operators, while others manage timing plans, travel arrangements and site notes.

  • Field assessments and crop timing plans
  • Operator supplied field runs and arrival site checks
  • Season bookings and multi farm programmes
  • Repeat pass planning and post pass reporting
  • Workshop checks, parts handling and machine readiness

That mix suits people who can move between practical tasks and careful admin without losing the thread of the job.

What helps when you send your CV

We do not hire from a fixed list with set dates. Instead, we keep an eye out for people whose experience matches the work, especially if they have farm exposure, machinery experience or a steady eye for detail. A good CV should show where you have worked, what equipment you handled and how you fit into a team under pressure.

  • Any crop, farm or machinery background
  • Experience with scheduling, logistics or site coordination
  • Comfort working in dusty, wet or hot field conditions
  • Clear communication and neat record keeping
  • Valid licences where driving or travel work is involved

If you have worked around precision agriculture, mechanical equipment or vegetable production, include that too. It helps us see where your skills sit in the day to day flow.

How our work moves from one block to the next

Laser weeding is timed to the weed stage, not just the calendar. That means the people in our team need to think about crop spacing, emergence, soil condition and the speed of travel across a block. The operator, scheduler and grower liaison all need to stay aligned so the unit reaches the right field at the right stage.

We value people who notice details early. A missed marker, a tight turn at the headland or a change in crop growth can affect the pass, so the work calls for patience and a tidy way of doing things.

Workshop hands, field hands and people who track detail

Not every role is in the field all day. Some people support the workshop, check fittings, prepare equipment and keep the machines ready for travel. Others handle post pass notes, route planning and grower updates. The job needs practical hands and clear thinking.

In our base at Philippi, Cape Town, we need people who can work with the team, respect equipment and keep records proper. A knack for order matters here, whether you are in a service role, a scheduling role or on the operator side of the business.
